Will I be able to sell the dice I create from your Master Dice?
Yes
All my fonts are free for commercial use and can be downloaded for use in your other media.
If you provide a logo (or custom font) for your dice it is your responsibility to use a licensed or free image.
If I design your logo for you I grant you rights to the design and files for personal & commercial use, reproduction and resale
Can I add a logo to my Master Dice?
Yes of course :)
All Tief's Things products that are customisable with your own logo say 'customisable' in the first product image. You'll also find a drop down menu with a 'Logo' option
I like a font that's not on your Font Menu. Can I have it?
Yes of course
Choosing an off font menu is a great way to differentiate the dice you make from those of other makers.
If you'd like a custom/ off menu font please message me with a link to your font for checking its suitability for printing. Then select the add-on listing for this option. It does increase the production time as all my files are made from scratch, all add-on listings need to be purchase in the same order as the physical products they affect
Can I customise your Ready-to-Mould Masters?
No, I'm Sorry
Producing a set of ready-to-mould masters takes 2-3months for this reason I make them in batches and then keep them in stock so that they can be posted out within a few days of purchase
I'm looking for a dice you don't have in the shop E.g spin down, block dice, fate dice etc
The shop only shows the most common options available but I love making dice for all different games (and learning about those game too!) Because I model all my own files and don't use file generators I can make your what ever you need for the system you play or your next kickstarter, just send me a message and we can get the custom process started :)
Sanding & Polishing
How do I sand or polish my Master Dice?
Sanding and polishing should be done carefully and slowly whilst wearing appropriate PPE. Use wet polishing papers, moving up the grades untill a glass finish. I include a polishing info & help sheet with each purchase that will guide you through the polishing process
I messed up - I need a duplicate set of my Masters
If I printed your original masters I will have the models on file and a reprint is simple. There's no need to pay for design work and custom set up again! I have a separate listing for reprinting master dice - if its not visible or sold out just drop me a message :)
Can you polish my masters to a high shine for me?
Yes that's not a problem
Please purchase the add-on listing for full polishing services in the same order as the physical masters
If I purchase full polishing, what method do you use?
All fully polished sets of master dice are polished by hand using 3M polishing papers and finished with Maguires plastic polish - Not a pottery wheel or tumbler in sight!
Mould Making
How do I make moulds with my custom master dice?
There are many different styles of mould to choose from - Youtube has some great tutorials for all these types.
The way I recommend to make moulds of your master dice which ever style of mould you choice is...
1) Finish your masters to 1000-1200grit
2) Use tin cure silicon to mould the original masters
3) Cast resin working master dice
4) Polish working master dice to glass finish
5) Make moulds from working master dice using tin or platinum cure silicone to use for day to day use.
This method takes longer than making moulds straight off but has many benefits - no chance of cure inhibition (no expensive chemical inhibitors), no wasted materials, two sets of moulds (1 matt, 1 polished), less chance of damage to masters and many more
What's the difference between Tin & Platinum cure silicone?
Tin and Platinum cure silicone react to form material bonds in different ways, giving different material properties
Tin cure silicones have little to no chance of cure inhibition with resin, moulds have a short (upto1-2 year if properly taken care of) life span. Tin cure silicones generally need a mould release agent to remove master dice. They can also have a higher shrink percentage
Platinum cure silicones have a much longer lifespan (10+ years in some cases) but can react and experience cure inhibition to a number of different factors - this it where silicone bonds do not form properly and silicon doesn't harden. Once fully cured platinum silicones are self lubricating and should not need release agent
